Not Extraterrestrial At All

It is my belief that these things that we are seeing, that our neighbors are seeing, that our friends and perfect strangers are recording on camera and posting to social media on a daily basis are real.  Completely and totally real.

But they are not extraterrestrial in origin, nor were they ever.

I believe that these things, these technologies, these beings, these transportation devices, originated on this planet.

I believe they have been here for likely millions of years.

I believe their origins are similar to our own, that they evolved on this planet, of this planet, but much more successfully than the homo sapiens that are flourishing today.

This may sound incredible, but bear with me.

The premise for my theory is this:

Look at the terrestrial fossil record.

There have been many mass extinctions that we are currently aware of.

Life has been all but wiped out on the surface of the earth several times.

Indeed, being on the surface of the planet over the course of its history has been very dangerous.

Most life forms that have ever existed on this planet are now extinct.

And most scientist have agreed that those that managed to survive mass extinctions and carry on were those that were able to somehow get off of the surface of the planet and burrow down below the reach of the effects of volcanic explosions, asteroid impacts, deep freezes and the like.

The seas have provided havens for many lifeforms, and some of the oldest known species still alive on the planet call the oceans their home.

Others adapted to life in caves or underground.

Yet we are expected to believe that the species that supposedly represents the pinnacle of intelligent life on our planet is one that lives on the surface??

Does that really make sense?

Not to me.

In my opinion, it makes much more sense to believe that the most successful form of intelligent life on this planet would have found a way to avoid mass extinctions by going underground - or under water - and staying there for the long haul.

I wholeheartedly believe that humanity is NOT the most intelligent form of life on this planet.  We simply believe ourselves to be because the lifeforms more intelligent than ourselves that also inhabit this planet simply do not share our habitat.  They have evolved to live below the surface, where they have been safe from the threats to their existence that we constantly worry about as humans.
